Donate to op shops

By choosing to donate your unwanted items to a RSPCA Victoria Op Shop, you’re not only helping the environment by giving a second life to an item that may otherwise end up in landfill, but you’re also helping the animals that we care for.

What items can I donate?

We greatly appreciate donations of quality items in saleable condition. When you’re considering whether to donate a particular item to a RSPCA op shop, a rule of thumb is to consider whether you think the item is in a good enough condition to give it to a friend.

We’re able to accept the following items:

  • Clothing and accessories
  • Toys
  • Books
  • CDs, DVDs and vinyl records
  • Homewares
  • Sporting goods
  • Furniture (please note that only selected RSPCA op shops can accept furniture – please call us on 9224 2258 for locations).

What items can’t I donate?

It costs us a lot of money to dispose of items that we are unable to sell due to poor condition. We ask that you please refrain from donating items that are broken, damaged, stained or faulty.

We are also unable to accept the following items:

  • Mattresses
  • Pillows
  • Worn underwear
  • Opened toiletries
  • Damaged items (such as chipped glassware and broken furniture)
