RSPCA Victoria’s face to face learning experiences with animals are a fantastic way for secondary and tertiary students to explore topics such as:

  • Working in the Animal Care Industry
  • Workplace Health and Safety
  • Humane Food and Ethical Consumerism
  • RSPCA and the Community

Our Burwood East site has a fully operational barn with a range of friendly farm animals for your students to meet.  The RSPCA Animal Care Centre facilitates many dogs, cats and small pets to find their forever homes.

Our interactive sessions can be tailored to suit your curriculum requirements.  Select topics that best suit your group and collaborate with our experienced educators to create a valuable excursion program.  We can host your class for 2 – 4 hours.

Looking for something even more hands on? 

Industry Experience Day

RSPCA Education and Training can facilitate small groups of students to take a closer look into the work of vet nurses and animal attendants.

This full day excursion is a great introduction to working with animals and will give your students an insight into what may be involved when working in the animal care industry.

The day will include:

  • Working with an experienced RSPCA educator to learn about the roles of Animal Attendants, Vet Nurses, Adoption Staff and Animal Behaviourists
  • Taking a behind the scenes peek at the Burwood East Animal Care Centre
  • Learning skills in animal behaviour, providing enrichment and preventative health care
  • Engaging with our resident pet and farm animals
