Animal welfare policies

RSPCA policies are a collection of philosophical statements developed to improve the welfare of animals in Australia. These policies are agreed on and amended by an unanimous vote of the RSPCA National Board, following consultation with each state RSPCA. View our policies on:

Following release of an RSPCA policy, position papers, guidelines and codes of practice are often issued by the RSPCA to offer additional information. If available, these documents should always be reviewed in conjunction with any RSPCA policy.

The policies and positions of the RSPCA referred to on this site represent the guiding principles to which we aspire in fulfilling our various roles. We are committed to giving effect to these principles wherever possible and practical For more information on RSPCA policy, please visit the RSPCA Australia Knowledgebase.
